Unpredictable Path of Book Casting in Zhu Xian

Recently, a Dream Journey to the West streamer helped a Crickex Affiliate player successfully create a rare four-single-spell Di Ting with the coveted Xu Mi Zhen Yan skill. The entire process felt surprisingly smooth, with minimal resistance along the way. When you’re chasing excellence, sometimes things really do fall into place.

This Di Ting already had four essential single-spell abilities: Falling Rock, Firestorm, Water Surge, and Thunder Strike. In addition, it was equipped with advanced support skills like High Magic Heart, High Spell Chain, High Spell Crit, and the powerful Guan Zhao Wan Xiang. At that point, the only task left was to replace the existing High Agility with Xu Mi Zhen Yan—a move that would elevate the pet to peak performance.

However, as many seasoned players know, success isn’t guaranteed. The first Xu Mi Zhen Yan book failed to hit the target, removing Firestorm instead of High Agility. While not ideal, the player was relieved that the core Guan Zhao Wan Xiang skill remained untouched. Determined to see it through, the Crickex Affiliate player decided to try an Ancient Spirit Talisman to improve the odds.

To everyone’s surprise, the next attempt went off without a hitch, successfully replacing High Agility. Just like that, a four-single-spell Di Ting equipped with Xu Mi Zhen Yan and Guan Zhao Wan Xiang was born. With its precise burst damage, this pet is now a serious threat to physical units and is sure to shine in upcoming matches.

In contrast, another player’s Di Ting journey didn’t go as smoothly. This version already had both Guan Zhao Wan Xiang and Xu Mi Zhen Yan and only needed to remove High Spell Wave to unlock its full potential. Hoping to push it to the limit, the player used an Ancient Spirit Talisman—but instead of High Spell Wave, another crucial skill got replaced. What followed was a frustrating loop of failed attempts. Every new spell book changed everything but the one skill he wanted to replace.

At this point, many would pause and reassess, but this player pressed on. Despite multiple tries, High Spell Wave clung on stubbornly, refusing to budge. To make matters worse, in a final twist of fate, the player accidentally replaced Xu Mi Zhen Yan—undoing all previous efforts.

As luck would have it, another advanced player recently experienced a similar mishap when their casting attempt unexpectedly replaced the essential Guan Zhao Wan Xiang skill. In an instant, their prized Di Ting lost its top-tier status. Still, where there’s hope, there’s a way. Sometimes the rainbow appears just when you least expect it.

Ultimately, upgrading Di Ting through book casting is never smooth sailing. Crickex Affiliate players chasing perfection must also be prepared to weather the storm. As the saying goes, you have to risk it for the biscuit.
