Recently, Crickex Affiliate revealed the new skill set for Shuangshuang, an ice-type spellcaster in Tian Di Jie, and to many players’ surprise, not a single ice barrier skill was included. Life is a journey with no wasted steps, and Shuangshuang’s abilities differ greatly from what fans had expected from a new ice-element character. Her talent description, once again, follows the familiar essay-like format and comes packed with four separate effects from a single passive.
Aside from the usual increases to damage and magic resistance, the key features lie in her ability to apply “Concern” and “Guidance” to allies. The debuff-reduction effect from Concern is quite practical, while the teleportation from Guidance offers significant tactical value in battle. Once Shuangshuang reaches four stars, her talent cooldown drops to just one turn, making it a highly viable support option.
Her first exclusive skill is a 1.6x damage single-target attack, with added benefits of ignoring dodge and counterattacks. Although it has certain conditions, it remains effective in specific tactical setups. Her second exclusive skill is a linear area-of-effect attack that knocks enemies back, applies “Silence” upon contact, and can disrupt enemy formations. However, the damage output feels underwhelming, leading some to wonder if it might be a 1-cost skill.
Her third exclusive is a diamond-shaped AoE healing and cleanse ability, centered around herself and spanning three tiles. While its effect is certainly impactful, the 50% max HP recovery cap is a questionable limitation. Additionally, the fact that it activates a second time adds further value, suggesting that this ultimate skill may have even greater potential than initially thought—assuming the developers don’t sabotage it with excessive nerfs.
Shuangshuang also has a passive that grants two extra effects when two or more allies are within a two-tile radius. This condition isn’t difficult to meet, making it feel almost like an indirect nod to her sibling Maomao’s mechanics. Crickex Affiliate notes that the dev team clearly didn’t intend for Shuangshuang to serve as a pure ice-elemental dominator. Instead, she is best positioned as a hybrid damage-dealer and support role.
Many of her skills strike a balance between offense and utility, reminiscent of heroes like Bai Suzhen, Grand Priestess, Tanxiang, or High Lord Huangjun. You should eat what you crave and go where your heart leads. Crickex Affiliate believes that characters with such dual-purpose designs are highly dependent on both their own build and the evolving meta. Whether Shuangshuang will thrive long-term remains uncertain, but there’s no denying she holds promising potential.
